Currently, WWF-Indonesia is starting a project 'Sustainable Ecosystem Advance "(SEA) for a period of 5 years which is funded by USAID through Tetratech consulting firm.This project will work in three areas: Maluku, North Maluku and West Papua need the best candidate to fill the position as MPA & Biodiversity Officer - West Papua with placements in Sorong, West Papua.MPA & Biodiversity Officer within the organizational structure of the SEA Project specifically works on the area of program implementation in the region Fakfak - Bintuni - Sorong in West Papua Province and responsible directly to the Site Coordinator of West Papua and technical coordination with the team in the area of implementation.
MPA & Biodiversity Officer responsible for assisting the SEA Site Coordinator and Project Leader in developing and implementing strategies and action plans related to the field of Biodiversity / Marine Protected Area (MPA) / Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) are the goals and achievements of the SEA project.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of data collection and analysis, either primary or secondary, associated biodiversity, MPA, and MSP (biophysical data - socioeconomic) in the location of Project implementation, especially in the province of West Papua
- Assist Project Leader and Site Coordinator in advocacy to local governments related policies on regional MPA, MPA networks, and or MSP
- Reviewing the various regulatory / policy related to marine conservation / marine resources for the benefit of the achievements of Project
- Presenting information on the issue of conservation / marine resources to be used as a decision-making or the work process to achieve an output Project
- Ensuring Project budget in the field of Biodiversity / MPA / MSP can be managed effectively and efficiently as well as compatible with the financial regulations and audit regulations.
- Use, maintain, and treat a variety of survey equipment properly.
- Make periodic reports and ad hoc or to document progress, outcomes, and learning program

- Technical Staff Marine Biodiversity program / MPA / MSP in the SEA Project (Tetra Tech, CTC, WCS)
- NGOs, CBOs, and local community issues related to marine conservation area in the location of Project implementation, particularly in the province of West Papua
- Technical Staff Marine Biodiversity program / MPA / MSP in UPT Central Government and the Provincial SKPD / Other districts in the relevant region Project implementation, particularly in the province of West Papua
- Universities and research institutes of marine and fisheries in the implementation of the Project, particularly in the province of West Papua
- Minimal S1 field of Marine / Fisheries / Biology / Conservation Management
- Minimum 2 years experience in the field of research - biological monitoring / marine resources, and marine conservation areas
- Possess the skills of diving and underwater survey, preferably with an advanced level of diving certification
- Mastering the various protocols survey marine biodiversity as well as data analysis
- Have a good ability of organizing communities and discussion facilitator.
