Job Description
We are a social enterprise with a mission to design and deliver tools
for people who want to improve the world. We work at the forefront of
efforts to understand and respond to the challenges of migration,
conflict and justice issues in the 21st Century.
Geographically, we operate in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South
Asia, South-East Asia and Oceania. Farsight’s personnel are spread
around the world and a lot of teamwork occurs remotely.
Previously, we have relied on piecework outsourcing for graphic
design support. We are now recruiting a graphic designer to become the
focal point for this work in the Enterprise. We are seeking someone who
can develop and grow with our brand, serving diverse internal needs at
the project and corporate levels.
This position is not suitable for someone who wants to specialize in a
narrow field of graphic design. Instead, it is suitable for someone who
wants an exciting range of different challenges and who has a broad set
of skills. You will be working with our corporate services team and
with our project managers, delivering visual products that define our
brand and represent our projects. You will also directly contribute to
our social impact, for example by providing inputs to projects that
reduce modern slavery or promote religious tolerance.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Work with the corporate services team to manage the visual elements of our branding, including logos, colors, typefaces and the graphical elements of our website.
- Work with project teams around the Enterprise to provide visual elements for their publications and reports, for example by preparing infographics and laying out data visualizations.
- Respond to project requests for support in activities requiring graphic design inputs, such as designing materials in communications projects or visual aids in training projects.
- Manage a workload that cuts across the Enterprise, meaning that you will likely have several tasks running in parallel. This requires you to be pro-active in communicating with your supervisor and colleagues to ensure that you have the time and support to get things done.
